Meal Plan: Two Ways to Use Your RFF Flock Share Box

Our first chickens are now on pasture and we could not be more excited for all that the season will bring

By now you’ve probably heard the hype about our 2024 Ultimate Pasture Raised Chicken Flock Share subscription. One of the greatest privileges for us as farmers is being trusted for the incredibly important role of providing nutritious food to our mid-south neighbors, and with just about 2 months left before the first boxes hit your freezers, I wondered what exactly eight Riley Family Farms chickens might look like for our subscribers. This led me to putting together these RFF Flock Share sample meal plans, and of course I’m making them available to you! Because every family is different, I’ve created two alternative menus. I hope you feel inspired by these sample meal plans- order your Ultimate Pasture Raised Chicken Flock Share (if you haven’t already!),and begin the countdown til our first pasture raised chicken of the season is on your table!

But there’s more! With each subscription box you receive in 2024, we will include a unique printed recipe card with one of our family recipes featured on this meal plan! Find both meal plan options below and let us know which recipe you are most excited to see in your own Riley Family Farms flock share box!

If you’re a head of the kitchen for larger family (like mine!), you love to cook, and you want to serve RFF chicken for a good percentage of your meals for the month, the first option, “Large Family Meal Plan”, may be how you use your flock share box. I’ve based this off of what an actual month feeding my family looks like.

If you are a smaller family or, like my brother Beniaih (better known to some of you as RFF Marketing Manager), really only responsible for feeding yourself- but you still love to prepare good meals and share with your friends or family: take a look at the second option, “Small Family Meal Plan”, which even allows you to save some chicken in the freezer for the 4 months we’re giving our pastures a break in the winter.
